Caverion Finland to Resolve Its Data Validation Challenges by Utilizing Codento’s Services and Google Cloud
What was the challenge?
Caverion’s purpose is to enable performance and people’s well-being in smart and sustainable built environments. Caverion’s offering covers the entire life cycle of buildings, infrastructure or industrial sites and processes: from design & build to projects, technical and industrial maintenance, facility management and advisory services.
Caverion Finland has thousands of customer locations where to provide their services. Caverion had challenges regarding the quality and timeliness of customer address data in ERP-system. Due to redundancy and human errors in the data, the resource usage wasn’t always optimized and quality of customer service was compromised at times. Challenge was also the lack of resources to update the address data as continuous measures.
The implementation of the service for validating data in Finland was needed in a 1 month development cycle. The implementation had to be scalable and support further development and possible expansion to other countries as well.
Our solution
Provided solution functionality included authentication, data import and export views, data set manipulation and setup for Google Cloud environment. We also developed the architectural plan and user experience. Caverion selected Google Cloud based on Codento’s recommendation.
We used Terraform on Google Cloud for infrastructure automation and Cloud Identity for authentication. Other key components of Google Cloud were Cloud Storage, Event Arc, Cloud Scheduler Cloud Run and Cloud Monitoring and Logging
User interface design was based on React and Firebase.

The solution was delivered in the proposed time-schedule, scope and budget. It will be used with first customers to obtain feedback for future development.
